Good and Evil part 2

In my last post I talked about the Fall of Man, the bad news for all mankind. Adam and Eve committed the first sin. This sin changed the world and creation.

Man was now separated from God. Adam and Eve had “died spiritually”, and because of their sin they would also eventually die. Where are they now? I’m not really sure. I don’t know if it really explains in the Bible where they would spend eternity.

Men and women were separated from God for a very long time. In the Book of Exodus, chapter 25, Moses, was instructed by I Am to build the tent of meeting or the Tabernacle. God gave him specific instructions. The Tabernacle was a brilliant design. There was a specific purpose for the design and all the articles that were placed in it. The people were allowed to gather in the outer court. God had designated various offerings that the people could bring at certain times.

In the inner court, behind the Holy Place, was the Holy of hollies. In this place there stood the ark of the covenant covered by the wings of the cherubim. This was where the Glory of the Lord would dwell. The only person that was permitted to enter into this place, was the high priest.

One day each year the high priest would walk into the Holy of hollies an offer a sacrifice for all the people in the camp. This sacrifice was called the Atonement, and was designed to forgive the people for their sins. This was the offering that was a temporary sacrifice for God’s people. The Tabernacle, and later the Temple, was only shadow of the coming of Christ.

In the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 9, Jesus is referred as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

Why was Jesus born? Jesus was God’s only son. He left heaven to come to earth. This was God the Father’s plan for man’s redemption. Jesus paid the price for our sins. When he was crucified on the cross, he let out the following words, “It is finished.” God’s plan was accomplished. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Man would not have to offer any more animal sacrifices.

Jesus is the only way to the Father. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. John 14:6

Jesus is the Redeemer. Jesus is the Good News! God’s plan was to reconcile mankind and offer eternal life and the assurance that he would live with him in heaven. There was one condition, though. Each man must come to Jesus on their own. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son , that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Do you know Jesus? Have you asked for forgiveness? Have you surrendered your life to him? Are you committed to follow him?

If you haven’t made that decision, Jesus extends the invitation to you now.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20

If you are ready, simply say a prayer.

A. Admit you are a sinner

B. Tell Jesus you believe he is your Savior. Thank him for dying on the cross for you.

C. Make a sincere commitment to give your life to him. Tell Jesus you want to follow him.

Rejoice! I”m so happy for you. Welcome into the Kingdom of God. You are a new creation. Your sins are washed away. You are made clean. This is a day to celebrate.

I encourage you to purchase a Bible, and find a good church that preaches the gospel. I pray you will be able to associate with other committed followers of Jesus.

Blessings.
